About this experience

Welcome to Amber Waves, your place for picking flowers out East.

Walk the rows, see what’s in bloom, and gather flowers to bring home or share. Pick Your Own is a chance to experience the farm beyond the market — to spend time in the fields and connect more closely to the season and the work of growing.

You’ll move through the same rows our farmers harvest each day and leave with a bouquet you picked yourself.

Amber Waves is a nonprofit teaching farm, and Pick Your Own programs directly support our educational, farming, and community work. Joining us in the fields is one way to connect more closely to where food and flowers come from — and to be part of sustaining local agriculture on the East End.

Fields open mid-July-Labor Day. Sessions run Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 11 am– 1 pm. Weather-dependent and subject to cancellation for farm events.

Your $50 Voucher Includes

What’s Blooming

In the Fields This Week

Our fields change week by week. The harvest board at the field entrance is updated daily — your farm host has the final word on what’s cuttable on any given day.

Something Beautiful Every Visit

Our fields rotate through the season — no two visits are exactly alike. Plan your trip around what’s calling to you.

July  Peak summer abundance — brilliantly yellow sunflowers, zinnias, cosmos, lisianthus, and a riot of mixed annuals.

August  Summer dahlias arrive — early dahlia varieties join strawflower, amaranth, and celosia for incredible texture and color.

Sept–Oct  Dahlia season peak glory — popping pink, deep burgundy, sunset orange, and creamy white. The visit our regulars come back for every year.
